Vision

The Vision of Meadowridge Baptist is ‘continue the work of Jesus’ in the times in which we live. We believe the message of the bible is still relevant to every generation and every nation, and therefore we unreservedly commit ourselves to being an influence for Christ to the people we come into contact with.

What we believe

 As a church we are totally committed to the authority of God’s word, that our faith should impact our daily lifestyle, and to be authentic in the way we express our Christianity to those around us. We see ourselves as an evangelical charismatic church with a strong missional focus. Our ministries are targeted to be effective to each generation, at the same time embracing the fact we are an intergenerational community where relationships with one another are important.

Our Goals

Although situated in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, our goal is to be a church that is sensitive to the needs of our greater community. Through initiatives of individuals, organizations and the church itself, we are attempting to have a holistic approach in the way we minister to the people around us. Job creation efforts, social action programmes, poverty relief and sharing our faith in Jesus Christ all go hand in hand! Despite all the bad news around us, the message of Jesus Christ is still relevant and life changing.

From One generation to the next

One of the major features of our church is that we are a family church. We believe in the importance of passing on our Christian faith to the generations that follow us and have structured the church to effectively do so. The children's, youth, young adults, adult and seniors ministries are all part of our attempt to be relevant to every generation, while encouraging each age group to see the value of those younger and older than themselves.

Small Groups

Our small group ministry, called Life Groups, is the backbone of the church. Our goal is that every person who is part of MBC will also be part of a Life Group where they can build good relationships, care for one another, be equipped to minister to each other and together learn the truths of God’s word. The Life Groups span every age group, and from time to time special courses are run to help people deal with some of the challenges facing 21st century Christians!

Mission

An important focus of Meadowridge is our missions vision. We believe in the importance of ‘making disciples of all nations’, and to that end are very involved in sending people and supporting different mission ventures. While seeing the many opportunities on our doorstep, we also see the challenge of people all over the world who have never heard the message of Jesus. This has caused us to have both a local and distant missions thrust.

Building back into the kingdom

Over the years God has blessed MBC with many wonderful resources in the facilities we have, the finances at our disposal and the people he has placed in the church. To be good stewards of what God has entrusted us with, we have developed both and Internship Programme for those studying for full time ministry and a Year Of Your Life Programme for those wishing to dedicate a period of time to serving God in and through a local church.
