BGI is a capacity building organisation. We mentor and coach leaders of projects for children and families in need in East and Southern Africa. We assist with organisational and resource development. By doing so we seek to restore children, families and communities in the image and likeness of God.

LifeMatters Foundation

The LifeMatters Foundation (LMF) was established by the Meadowridge Baptist Church to serve the youth of the greater Constantiaberg area. However, it now also functions beyond these boundaries and in partnership with other churches. LifeMatters Foundation is active in schools ranging from the economically privileged to the economically challenged. We believe that all kinds of children in all kinds of schools have real needs which are not being met. LifeMatters Foundation's core purpose is to positively impact the lives of school children through sensitive intervention at many levels, believing that with God as their foundation they will find true value, purpose and healing.

We provide two types of care for the children  who come to stay with us: 
 1)    Emergency care provides immediate care for children who are removed from or abandoned by their parents. Emergency care operates for 48 hours or until the earliest available court date.
 2)    Safety care is from the first court appearance until the second court appearance. It is usually for a period of up  to six weeks, during which an investigation into the child's family of origin and the best possible options for placement are considered.

If you would like to become part of the exciting  things God is doing amongst us, please consider volunteering your skills and time. We can always use an extra hand. There are many  areas that we need help from cleaning to carers to being a part of the prayer team. The  needs are often changing so it's best to get hold of us.
